remember how i made the post about men using being “providers” to excuse sexism, and it’s all bullshit and actively harms women, well my roommate started seeing this guy, and he literally told her that he’ll be the provider and she needs to quit her job, so she can always be available when he needs her…so  she said, no, her phone was dying so she attempted charging it, because she’s on call, and took a nap, when she woke up she found the charger unplugged, and the guy told her “who do you need to talk to anyways” please tell me how this is supposed to be out of “kindness” and not control. women not being able to provide for themselves and being independent, makes it easier to stay in controlling and abusive relationships, because they have no source of income. add children to that and it’s even harder. men know exactly what they’re doing when they demand a woman stop working for their sake. ladies NEVER give up your job, or your education for a man.
