Bug-Out Bag

The kit is named sever things such as Go Bag, GOOD bag (Get Out Of Dodge), INCH bag (I’m Never Coming Home), or Quick Run Bag (QRB). These bags are used for speedy evacuation and not long-term survival. These bags as also a huge help in an abusive household.

I will list the things you should have in your bag, then how to evacuate your abusive household if you ever need to. Here is a list of things you should add to your INCH Bag.

Your Bag Should Have

Hygienic / Medical Things

  • Bottle(s) of water
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Feminine toiletries to last you a while
  • Deodorant, Q-tips, shaver.
  • Some unopened packs of differently sized band-aids
  • Bottle(s) of water
  • A few days worth of clean clothes
  • Leukotape
  • Medication (if you take any)
  • Neosporin / Cortizone
  • Vaseline

Nutrition

  • Food: Things that don’t need to be heated up, refrigerated or won’t dry out. Canned food works as well as beef-jerky so on
  • Bottle(s) of water

Tools

  • Pocket knife
  • Eating utensils, at least one or two of each: knife, fork, spoon.
  • Set of matches or lighter
  • Flashlight (bring a few unused backup batteries)

Other Necessary Things

  • Money. A good amount so you can get place to place.
  • Your phone charger and phone
  • Any and all legal documents that are in your name: Birth certificate, social security card, Passport, Identification card (drivers licenses)
  • Car keys (if the car is under your name) if you share it with your family- leave it behind.
  • A jacket or coat, shoes

Now that you have that packed, keep your back in a place no one will find it. Under the bed or in your clothes under a stack of clothes. When you need to leave quickly- locate it and leave. It has what you need till you find a place to stay at. PLEASE HAVE A PLAN.

You should already have a plan, for when you need to quickly GTFO with your  QRB. Know where your local shelters are, have a friend house to bunk at, or stay in a local motel. You can get your transportation via your own car, your friend, public transportation, or Uber/Lyft.
