I live in Dominican Republic where I moved from east Europe. This happened about 15 years ago. I suddenly started getting automated phone calls from a bank (let’s call them BB – BadBank) in which I had no account.
The call was directed to somebody else (let’s say to Juan Martinez) and would go like this: ‘Esteemed Sr. Martinez, we’re calling from BB bank and it’s about your debt. Please get in touch with us as soon as possible. We appreciate… blah blah blah’. Naturally, after first several calls I did nothing, and the call would come like once in 7-10 days.
I got my revenge against a Bank.
