How mind works

chaos-and-magic-again:

This is a quick study of my theory of how mind works supported by, well, physics.

Pilot wave theory

The pilot wave theory is a hidden variable theory. Consequently:

  • the theory has realism (meaning that its concepts exist independently of the observer);
  • the theory has determinism.

The positions and momenta of the particles are considered to be the hidden variables.

The observer not only doesn’t know the precise value of these variables but more importantly, cannot know them precisely because any measurement disturbs them, this is known as quantum superposition.

A collection of particles has an associated matter wave, which evolves according to the Schrödinger equation. Each particle follows a deterministic trajectory, which is guided by the wave function.

Quantum superposition

is a fundamental principle of quantum mechanics. It states that, much like waves in classical physics, any two (or more) quantum states can be added together (“superposed”) and the result will be another valid quantum state).

Another example is a quantum logical qubit state, as used in quantum information processing, which is a quantum superposition of the basis states 0 (zero) and 1 (one).

Quantum entanglement

Quantum entanglement is a physical phenomenon which occurs when pairs or groups of particles are generated, interact, or share spatial proximity in ways such that the quantum state of each particle cannot be described independently of the state of the other(s), even when the particles are separated by a large distance—instead, a quantum state must be described for the system as a whole.

The paradox is that a measurement made on either of the particles apparently collapses the state of the entire entangled system—and does so instantaneously, before any information about the measurement result could have been communicated to the other particle (assuming that information cannot travel faster than light) and hence assured the “proper” outcome of the measurement of the other part of the entangled pair.

My theory

A person’s mind is in constant superposition state in the mental plane of its existence.

Only if we choose to observe it, we corrupt and disturb the superposition state of our mind, therefore, we give the mind an existential information value which is either 0 or 1 (or more).

But what would give our mind the value either zero or one while the position of momenta is considered to be hidden valuable?

In my theory, a moment of choosing to observe our mind, a moment of admitting its existence, we give the position of momenta a value and therefore, the value will be given to our state of mind either 0 or 1 or any other value.

Based on this theory, you can give your state of mind and your mind new values every time you choose to observe it and measure it in sense of learning truth about it.

Which leads us to following:

– whatever moment you choose for observing and learning about your own mind will give your mind a direction, a value, a future.

– choosing a different moment, in different time and based on different starting situation, will give your mind a different starting position to choose a different direction, a value, a future.

– this way, and based on this theory, a human mind can be constantly shifted and open to change as in giving your mind a different starting position (meaning a value to hidden valuable) and different value of information.
